Somerset Federal Credit Union is proud to announce the recipients of its 2026 Scholarship Program, awarding three $2,000 scholarships to exceptional graduating seniors who embody the Credit Union philosophy of “people helping people.”

Each year, these scholarships recognize students who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership, community involvement, and a commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom.

Hailey Ellse

Oliver C. Perry, Jr. Scholarship –
Hailey Ellse

Hailey Ellse, a graduate of Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical School, has been awarded the Oliver C. Perry Jr. Scholarship. Hailey will attend Stonehill College this fall, where she plans to study Early Child Education & Psychology. Her dedication to academics and passion for helping others made her a deserving recipient of this year’s award.

Somerset Federal Credit Union Scholarship – Miette Melanson

Miette Melanson, a graduate of Somerset Berkley Regional High School, has been selected to receive the Somerset Federal Credit Union Scholarship. Miette will attend Rhode Island College to pursue a degree in Diagnostic Medical Imaging. Her strong work ethic, leadership, and commitment to her future goals distinguished her among this year’s applicants.

ReachOut! Scholarship – Gianna Gomes

Gianna Gomes, a graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, has been awarded the ReachOut! Scholarship. Gianna will attend the University of New Hampshire, where she plans to study Occupational Therapy. Her compassion, determination, and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others reflect the spirit of this scholarship award.

Congratulations to Hailey, Miette, and Gianna on this well-deserved recognition. We wish them continued success as they begin this exciting next chapter.
