If your wire is being sent from a financial institution outside of the U.S., the sending financial institution may ask for a SWIFT Code. SFCU does not have a SWIFT Code.

Receiving Funds

Wires are posted to your account throughout the day as received.  The last wires are posted at 4:00pm (EST) on business days.

If funds are being sent to pay your Somerset FCU loan:

Provide the sending financial institution all of the information listed above and ask that they provide the following information in “Wire Detail”.

Domestic: $20.00

International:  $30.00

Receipts

We do not mail receipts for funds received by wire transfer. You may confirm the wire via TELLERphone, online banking, or our mobile banking app.

To wire funds from your Somerset Federal Credit Union account to another financial institution, please provide us with the following.

Routing Number / ABA: Wire routing transit number of the financial institution that will receive the funds.
Financial Institution’s Name: For Example: ABC Bank
Financial Institution’s Address: Street, City, State and Zip Code
Beneficiary Account Number: This is the account where the funds will be deposited.
Beneficiary Name: The name of the person who owns the account where the funds will be deposited.
Beneficiary Address: The address of the person who owns the account where the funds will be deposited.

You may request outgoing wires in-person or by phone.

For wires requested in-person:

Visit us during normal business hours with a form of ID.

You may wire an amount up to the available funds in your account.

For wire requests received by phone:

You must have a Wire Transfer Agreement on file.

We will follow the security procedure agreed to in the Wire Transfer Agreement.

We will fax/email a wire form to you.  Complete the form and return it to us along with a copy of your state issued driver’s license.

There is a $1,500 limit on requests not done in person.

Wires are sent from your account throughout the day.  Wire requests received after 4:00pm (EST) will be processed the next business day.

You may also use the transfer option if you have signed up for SFCU Bill Pay.

Domestic:  $25.00

International: $35.00

Receipts

You can request to have a detailed confirmation sent via encrypted email once the wire has been successfully sent. We cannot predict when the receiving financial institution will deposit the funds into the beneficiary account.

Warnings About Wires

Wires are a safe and fast way to send or receive money. However, there are some things you need to know to reduce your risk of becoming a victim of fraud.

Never send money to people you haven’t met in person.

Never send money to pay for taxes or fees on lottery or prize winnings.

Never provide your banking information to people or businesses you don’t know.

Never send money in advance to obtain a loan or credit card.

Never send money for an emergency situation without verifying that it’s a real emergency.

Never send funds from a check deposited into your account until it officially clears.
