ReachOut! Who's Who

Zachary Powers-Alves has had a lasting effect on our programs. He was the inspiration behind our annual Toy Drive.

A hospital patient at age 12, Zach noticed that other young patients needed cheering up. So, in 1999, he initiated his own toy drive and would hand-deliver presents to appreciative children.   We recognized his effort in our Who's Who program and made the Toy Drive an annual event under the auspices of ReachOut!. Zach helped us run the drive in its early years, including delivering toys to charities and mentoring area high school students. His story provides a great example of what ReachOut! is all about.
